Metal Gear Solid Collection So Far

Here it is, my entire Metal Gear Solid collection. This is one series that I love, and have always been fascinated by it ever since first playing a demo of it. Iv'e not got the biggest MGS collection but I certainly have a fair bit with some interesting items too.

Below my entire MGS collection as of July 2011

Below from left to right, top row MGS From the MGS collection NTSC and the standard NTSC version, Below is the Pal version of special Missions and the Platinum pal version.
And below that is also the MGS twin pack, horizontal version that includes special missions and the original platinum game too. There was also a vertical version and a stacked version of this set released

Below is the Japanese MGS Premium edition. This has a t-shirt, soundtrack cd, art/info book, dog tags and PS1 promo cards. Should also have the game in it but unfortunately mine is missing the game.

Below is the pal version of the Premium package. The comes with the black label game ( complete with silent hill demo), Some stickers, dog tags, different from the Japanese tags ( Click here to see both compared) A two sided poster and a different t-shirt to the Japanese pack too.

My spare premium bits, extra cards, spare dog tags and half stickers.

Close up of the memory card stickers, getting very hard to find these complete.

Couple of loose figures, snake from MGS4 and Snake from MGS3 AKA Big Boss

Metal Gear Solid the Twin Snakes for the Nintendo Gamecube, PAL version. It is a fantastic game but for a while it took some getting used to with the controls. I'm used to playing MGS games on the Playstation series so changing the button layout is really unusual. The game is a remake of the PS1 game and features some stunning graphics, possibly some of the best on the Gamecube. The game also adds elements featured in MGS2 such as the first person view, hanging from railings and rolling too.

From left to right top row MGS2 Single disc, MGS2 2 disc, MGS2 NTSC
Below MGS2 Substance for PC, MGS Substance Pal and MGS Substance NTSC

MGS2 is possibly one of my favourite games in the series. It is one I have played over and over again and I really like the two game mode options, tanker and plant. Meaning if you just want a short game you can play the tank or if you have more time you can complete the plant option. Iv'e managed to get my time down to a little under 30 mins on the tanker mission. Often regarded as the black sheep of the family, this game was a bit naughty by showing Snake in all the trailers, and the cover art, yet the main protagonist is a character called Raiden. For me this wasn't an issue as the gameplay was as good as always, however some people were pretty annoyed by this.

Below is the reverse of all of the above

Zone of the Enders with the MGS2 demo disc and booklet.
Zone of the Enders or ZOE, is another game by Hideo Kojima, again featuring Mech bots.

Metal Gear Solid 2 the trailer DVD. Japanese Promo DVD. Complete with artbook.
This is the white dvd version, there is also a black version. Not sure what the difference between the two is at present as I only own the white version.

Some close ups of the artwork in the booklet.

MGS3 collection, left to right. NTSC version, PAL copy with slipcase ( getting harder and harder to find) and Pal copy of MGS Subsistance. The difference in price between MGS3 and Subsistance is huge. MGS3 can be picked up for around £3+ whereas Subsistance goes for around £40+ so really is one for the collectors.

Promo copy of MGS3. This would be sent to the press to do reviews of before the games release.

My PSP games, all PAL versions despite it being region free the artwork does vary.
Both Ac!d games are complete with the booklets etc and 3D glasses. These extras are often missing from them which is really frustrating.

Novelisation of MGS, paperback by Raymond Benson

Metal Gear Saga Volume 2. DVD

MGS4 Pal PS3 copies. Platinum edition and the black label with slipcase. A fantastic game and Im recently getting into the Online mode. The game is a huge deviation in gameplay style from all the other games in the series and in all honesty I prefer the older style. It almost feels like a different game series. It's not to say its not good, but it is very different.
